Helen Kingford, the resident psychologist at an institution for delusional patients is working her last night on a research program when she falls unconscious. She wakes to find herself alone and tied up, and soon realises all of the remaining atients have escaped their cells.

Fearing for her life she helps a patient escape the hospital, only to find a vulnerable girl hiding away inside. Kingford understands she must sacrifice her safety and re-enter the hospital to save the little girl from the psychotic patients still inside.
